[Would you want The Lord God Almighty to brag about you in this manner?]
“Then the LORD said to Satan, “HAVE YOU CONSIDERED MY SERVANT JOB? There is NO ONE ON EARTH LIKE HIM; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”(Job 1:8)
[Our Abba Father knew how Job would respond no matter how badly he was attacked by Satan!]
“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not PUT A HEDGE AROUND HIM and his household and everything he has? The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.”(Job 1:9-12)
[It was on, Satan was determined to pull Job away from God! But God knew Job would be faithful.]
”…A MESSENGER CAME to Job and said, “The fire of God fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants…WHILE HE WAS STILL SPEAKING, another messenger came and said, “The Chaldeans…swept down on your camels and made off with them… WHILE HE WAS STILL SPEAKING, yet another messenger came and said, “Your sons and daughters were…at the oldest brother’s house, when suddenly a mighty wind swept in…It [the house] collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” (Job 1:14-19)
[Everything of Job’s family including his children we gone, so how did Job react?]
“At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he FELL TO THE GROUND IN WORSHIP and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” In all this, Job DID NOTSIN by charging God with wrongdoing.” (Job 1:20-22)
[So we may think we had a bad day!]
“His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, JOB DID NOT SIN IN WHAT HE SAID.” (Job 2:9-10)
[O, Lord; help us to stay faithful to you this day!]
“Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart BE PLEASING IN YOUR SIGHT, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psa. 19:13-14)
Lord; help us to DO and SAY what pleases you!
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:
THE WORDS OF OUR MOUTH AND THIS MEDITATION OF OUR HEART WILL BE PLEASING IN YOUR SIGHT!
